The ({[ROCKET(!!!)McFLYY]})

The lion’s share of this project was recorded over the course of seven days; this song took nearly a year. A fairly simple idea I had in late November, 2013 that was finally demo ready by August 2014. This is the longest it has ever taken me to complete a recording I have been actively working on. Everyone has a favorite part of this song. Welcome to my world. Enjoy.

2. #LONGWAYHOME featuring Deekah Wyatt

In early 2013, we made good friends with a rocker named Deekah Wyatt. Known to many of her fans as Mama Slop, Deekah is the founder of the Midwest’s ONLY ethnic rock festival, The COSMIC SLOP. She is also an incredible person. While rummaging through bits and pieces of songs we anticipate will become a masterpiece, she introduced this few-chord riff; it began to write itself immediately. The brother of a dear sister I love very much transitioned into the eternal. An ode to him in verse, when Deekah heard it, she asked me if I wanted to sing it myself. I said, “FUCK YEAH.” I love you, TiNK and Darius. Ashe. Thank you, Mama Slop. GODSPEED.

3. #NEVANOMODO [a POWER(!!!)SQUAD Record] featuring ROCKET(!!!) and The REDQU33N LAE

During the summer of 2013, I began toying around with some lyrics I couldn’t shake. By mid-fall, her majesty had decided to experiment in something aggressive. We mixed, we mingled, we dabbled, we struggled with worlds within and around us, we dabbled some more. Voila. #NEVANOMODO.

This song might be the most abrasive way to deliver a message about self love. The truth is heavy, no matter where it is coming from. Love you. Too. LOVE YOU. TOO.

4. #UNTiTLED2010

This is the first ({[ROCKET(!!!)McFLYY]}) song. Not, like, the first song we ever made EVER, because that would be dope. But it is the first song to ever intentionally incorporate only the five elements of Groove Theory. It’s also the first song McFLYY ever produced on. I mixed this song for almost a month.

The title kinda says it all. The official slogan of the OUTERSPALiEN ALLiANCE. Shameless plug for those who use tools like OUTERSPALiEN REiGN and/or Nichiren Buddhism as vessels to truth. A symbol of what a journey this project has been for me and people I share life with. NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO! GODSPEED.

Thank you for hearing me out. These pieces are a sign of some to come. I hope you are looking forward to it.

How good would it feel if,

you were working all day,

fixing something or cleaning something

so that everyone else could enjoy it,

there’s so many people around,

but no one says anything to you,

everyone just walks by,

and someone finally approaches you and says,

"You’re doing great!

Thank you so much!

Have a good night!”?

I don’t think it’s meant to be, B
For she loves her work more than she does me
And honestly, at twenty-three,
I would probably love my work more than I did she
So we, ain’t we
It’s me, and her
‘Cause what she prefers over me, is work
And that’s, where we, differ
So I have to give her
Free, time, even if it hurts
So breathe, mami, it’s deserved
You’ve been put on this earth to be
All you can be, like the reserves
And me? My time in the army, it’s served
So I have to allow she, her, time to serve
The time’s now for her
In time she’ll mature
And maybe we, can be, we, again like we were
Finally, my time’s too short to share
And to ask her now, it ain’t fair
So yeah, she lost one!
